Algebra was the first video I created from a live set at the Soda nightclub in Calgary from 2007. The video is really special to me. A lot of gear was used live to create the song. Many visuals are of my family, my Dad, my Aunt and my Uncle. Several shots are from my Dad’s 1955 Canadian Curling Team trip to Scotland and Switzerland. Thanks to VJ Marcus Leja for projecting these images as well as my cemetery visuals live. Such memories from sitting in front of my Dad’s 16 mm projector as a child now immortalized with my soundtrack in front of an audience…

This was my first time playing at the Ambient Ping in Toronto. I was proud to have been selected to play after sending in a demo to the Ping crew. I had attended the Ping a few times per year starting in 2004 in Toronto when I first saw Terry O’ Brien play live and weave his magic with guitar ambience and a vast array of effect pedals. During this video, I was sweating profusely, not knowing if what I wa s delivering that night would be accepted as ambient. That few seconds between the end of me playing and the applause was an eternity!

Tanz des Abendlied or Dance of the Evening Song was created during the Covid lockdown period. The video was shot in my basement in front of my television which was used to play some interesting visuals. I was happy to incorporate visuals from the German Expressionist Era into this piece.
